Using Education to Help Fulfill Other’s Dreams

Jacob Castro, son of USA DeBusk VP Miguel Castro, was among the first recipients of a grant from the Taylor Whitley USA DeBusk Scholarship Foundation. The same character of selfless service that made him an ideal scholarship recipient is now evident in his first professional role.

In May of 2023, Jacob graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University Bayside. He has since applied that knowledge and talent working as the After School Director of the Dream Center in Bradenton, Florida. The Dream Center is a non-profit organization was established to provide a safe environment and free after-school programs, such as such as homework help, tutoring, art and sports activities, for elementary-age students living in the downtown Bradenton area. The Dream Center’s mission is to “meet the needs of the community, restore hope, and impact the next generation.”

Congratulations to Jacob as he begins his professional career and continues a legacy of “showing up” for others.
